Besides argument of legitimacy , Another question is whether the block of domain name technically effective. While the block can temporarily stop the access to pirated website, internet user can easily circumvent it by new technology as they have always done.
This probably ends up being beneficial to filesharing and shows the blocking attempts to be counter-productive. The side-effects will be that the more blocks there are, the more workarounds people learn.
Regarding this point, the copyright protection is a fight with technology development, it seems like always lag behind the latter.
